Our crazy dream of scoring a sweet vacation pad in Austria actually came true! Say hello to the "Fleissner Hütte" – our haven in the heart of Austrian awesomeness. We've been head over heels for Austria for ages and vitied as a group of friends for many years first without and now with our kids as one big happy vacationing family.

Our cozy cabin is a year-round road trip away, decked out with modern fascilities so you can live your best life there and still have the cosyness of a classic 'hütte'. Picture this: 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a living room with a legit tile stove that's basically a winter hug machine. And guess what? There's a sauna too! Winter bonus: you can dive into the fluffy snow after sweating it out in the sauna!

Our cabin is located at 1,500 meters in the Kärntner Nockberge at the border with Salzburgerland, a unique area in Austria with rolling, wooded mountains. Since July 2012, this area has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is a biosphere reserve. You'll find coniferous and deciduous forests, and higher up, larches and pines. There's a lot of biodiversity, with bears, woodpeckers, eagle-owls, lynxes, and badgers.

Just a few hundred meters away is the famous Nockalmstraße, a rad alpine road in Carinthia. 35 kilometers of crazy turns, killer views, and even playground pit stops for the kids. Plus, 14 snack stations (jausenstationen) with all the local specialities.

Our place is the perfect launchpad for hitting the slopes. We're talking Katschberg (20 minutes away), with 70 km of slopes and kid-friendly vibes. 10 minutes from there, Grosseck Speiereck has 50 km of slopes – perfect for both newbies and more experienced skiers.
